In 2019 as a Senior AD at Mekanism, I proposed an entirely brand new design system inspired by the Mexican tradition of hand painted lettering for the oldest tequila brand in the world: Jose Cuervo.

We pitched it, they bought it, and the rest was history.

We commissioned award-winning Mexican type designer Abraham Lule to design a set of hand painted letters that would become the foundation of their new look and feel. XYZ Type converted every single letter into fully functioning bespoke Cuervo fonts.
